Paradoxes in Health!

  1. Pneumonia and alcohol are biggest killers....yet we spend so much on HIV and AIDS!
  2. Primary health care is yet to reach the grassroots..we talk of health tourism!
  3. Essential drugs are in short supply, yet we have grand hospital structures!
  4. Our nurses are in short supply, but they are plenty in the archery grounds!
  5. Our attitudes are rotten, we talk of quality care!
  6. Academics is a no no to most of us, but we will have a medical college soon!

Can you all add some?

  1. 1. there is money everywhere in hiv aids.......there is talk where there is money. i dont know weather people realyy want to create awareness or take money.
    2. yes people are travelling hours to go to bhu and no staff. even i found staff who turned back the patient as they did not bring old prisciption what to talk of attitude.
    3. spent millions in structure and vip drugs (this vip drugs are just taking away the money that can be used to buy essential drugs. it makes no sence to me.
    4. nurse are everywhere. they just murmer if doctor admits a patients as they have to give injection......some are just too harsh.
    5. there is no service unless people make noice. so patients are tough these days...we are partly responsible...only when i see a patient here and have to tell sorry 10 times in a single examination do i realise what the hell i was dooing in bhutan.
    6. i seriously doubt the quality of doctors that will be produced.....are we really ready for it??
