Hon'ble Lyonpo, the Minister of Health visited Mongar Hospital on the evening of 10th November and met with the staff and individual patients in all the units. Lyonpo also hosted a dinner for the doctors and staff. On the morning of 11th November, co-inciding with the birth anniversary of the fourth Druk Gyalpo, Lyonpo inagurated the Herbal Steam Treatment Centre in the Indegenous unit.

This is good. It is indeed an honour to meet the minister. That way, we Bhutanese are fortunate to get the close attention of our leaders. The inaugurations are nice to have and well deserved. What is important is the involvement of health professionals in shaping the strategy and directions of the noble institution. I hope that all of you made best use of the opportunity to discuss such issues with Lyonpo.

The steam therapy centre really seems to be picking up and I can see the otherwise free Drungtsho really busy these days. It is a good sign and will definitely benifit whole lot of patients. The Steam therapy unit is located at the third floor of the main hospital building just besides the cabins.A prior arrangement/appointment with the Drungtsho may be necessary to avail the treatment.
